Overview

The offices of Lewis Brisbois, a full-service AmLaw 100 firm, are seeking a Conflicts Manager to become part of our national Conflicts Department. The primary responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to, the overall management, administration, and operational leadership of the Conflicts Department. The position oversees departmental workflow, staffing, performance management, training, quality assurance, resource allocation, and operational planning to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of conflicts services. exercises independent judgment and discretion in managing departmental operations, personnel matters, workflow prioritization, policy implementation, and process improvement initiatives. The position works closely with the Director of Conflicts, Conflicts Attorneys, Firm management, and other administrative departments to support the Firm's business objectives while ensuring compliance with Firm policies and ethical obligations. This position is hybrid; fully remote opportunities are available.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities/Requirements:

  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Conflicts Department, ensuring the timely and accurate completion of conflicts requests and related services
  • Directly supervises the Conflicts Supervisor and other assigned personnel, including coaching, mentoring, employee development, and performance management.
  • Participates in the recruiting and hiring process as well as employment related decisions
  • Oversees employee timesheets, PTO requests, coverage and departmental resource assignments
  • Partners with the Lead Conflicts Partner [or Director of Conflicts depending on further restructuring] and Conflicts Attorneys regarding complex conflicts matters, operational challenges, and departmental initiatives.
  • Requires advanced knowledge of law firm conflicts processes, new matter intake procedures, conflict clearance workflows, and risk management principles.
  • Requires demonstrated leadership and personnel management skills, including employee coaching, development, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of law firm conflicts experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years of supervisory, management, or leadership experience.
  • Experience utilizing Intapp, Aderant, or other law firm conflicts and intake systems.
