The Kansas City office of Lewis Brisbois, a full-service AmLaw 100 firm, is actively seeking an Estate Planning Paralegal / Trust Funding Coordinator. The Trusts & Estates practice group handles trust and estate planning, wealth counseling, and business entity creation and maintenance.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Prepare documents for a wide variety of legal needs, including estate planning, trust settlement, probate, and entity installation using existing document templates and creating documents as needed
- Create drafts of trusts using Wealth Docx software
- Maintain files and entity books on an annual basis
- Trust and funding administration
- Use of FundingPro software
- Create funding documents for Trusts, Trust Settlements, and Entities
- Copying and mailing funding letters
- Conduct meetings with and attend seminars for clients (some travel required)
- Create Asset Review Reports annually and perform updates
- Obtain funding verification for trusts, trust settlements, and entities
- Attend and conduct workshops for clients using Lifespan software
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Proficiency in computer skills, including all Microsoft Office programs
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong organization, facilitation, communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to prioritize workflow and manage multiple, competing priorities
- Ability to work effectively without supervision and within established time limits and deadlines
- Experience with the following software/services: Wealth Docx, FundingPro, WealthCounsel, DocuBank, and Lifespan.
