Overview

The Los Angeles, CA office of Lewis Brisbois, an AmLaw 100 law firm, is seeking a Director of Human Resources that will report directly to the Chief People Officer. This is an impactful role focusing on building relationships and firmwide trust in human resources as a true strategic partner. The incumbent will work to create and maintain a working environment where all can thrive and succeed.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Appropriately challenge the status quo through a willingness to provide sound counsel to align human resources as a strategic partner to all areas of the firm.
  • Provide effective counsel and empower managers firmwide to appropriately and effectively handle performance and team conduct issues as they arise. Provide managers with the tools and knowledge needed to find the best possible solutions to all concerns.
  • Own and effectively handle escalated employee relations issues through effective collaboration with firm management and provision of advice utilizing subject matter expertise to afford the best possible disposition for all.
  • Advise in the development of effective human resource strategies and policies that support and enhance firmwide goals and initiatives.
  • Champion the development, implementation, and maintenance of a workplace culture that aligns with the firm’s values and promotes collaborations, innovation, employee satisfaction and successes.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommend best practices; regularly review policies to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate both cross-functional and intra-departmentally to assure smooth administration of the firm’s annual talent management processes.
  • Effectively leverage knowledge of both HR and firmwide strategic initiatives to drive continuous improvement amongst all levels of the firm.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ability to inspire and influence amongst all levels of the firm.
  • Deep understanding of firmwide operations and the ability to align HR initiatives with firmwide strategic goals.
  • Proven ability to navigate and resolve complex employee relations issues and finding a win-win situation for all involved.
  • Ability to adapt based on shifting priorities
  • Possess a high level of confidentiality and discretion

Minimum Salary

USD $160,000.00/Yr.

Maximum Salary

USD $220,000.00/Yr.
