The Houston office of Lewis Brisbois, a full-service AmLaw 100 firm, is actively seeking an attorney to join its Transportation Practice.   The ideal candidate will be admitted to practice in Texas and have at least three (3) years of insurance defense experience handling matters involving heavy trucking/tractor trailer and cargo and freight carriers.   The attorneys of Lewis Brisbois' Transportation Practice are extensively involved in the defense of the trucking industry, representing freight carriers, transportation brokers, truck insurers, public entities, school bus operators, long and short haul truckers, and waste management groups engaged in both intra-state and interstate transportation. We have considerable litigation and trial experience and have dealt with a broad variety of issues that are pervasive in the industry, including negligent hiring and retention, hours of service, Engine Control Module (ECM) data, messaging and positioning data, DOT compliance, and accident reconstruction. Our clients have enjoyed excellent case results through our handling of their matters.   Qualified candidates will be comfortable drafting and responding to discovery and initial pleadings, drafting, and arguing motions, as well as taking and defending depositions. Candidates must have strong writing and analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.   The Houston office of Lewis Brisbois, a full-service AmLaw 100 firm, is actively seeking an attorney to join its Bankruptcy & Insolvency Practice.   The ideal candidate will be admitted to practice in Texas and have at least four (4) years of experience:   - Representing banks and other financial institutions in loan enforcement proceedings - Representing debtors, creditors and/or Committees in Bankruptcy proceedings - Handling matters involving post-judgment enforcement, execution and lien foreclosure - Defending banks in consumer collection practices act claims and other consumer lending matters   The attorneys of Lewis Brisbois' Bankruptcy and Insolvency Practice assist businesses and individuals in formulating and carrying out creative problem-solving strategies when they are faced with insolvency; either their own, or that of a customer or borrower. The Bankruptcy and Insolvency Department represents clients with diverse interests, including companies and individuals who are reorganizing, bankruptcy trustees, plan disbursing agents, lenders, landlords, and acquirers of assets from bankruptcy estates. We have represented clients in all aspects of contested matters and adversary proceedings, including fraudulent conveyances, preferences, relief from stay motions, non-dischargeability actions, trustee motions, and the entire range of litigation matters that arise in bankruptcy cases, including appeals. In addition, we assist the firm's insurance clients in all insolvency-related matters. Admission to the Illinois Bar is required.   Lewis Brisbois’ representation of its clients, both in toxic tort and environmental matters, extends to state, federal, and administrative hearings and trials, including Superfund multi-site litigation and coordinated Federal Multi-District Litigation. We represent generators, landowners, municipalities, and site operators, from multi-national corporations to family-owned local companies. The diversity of the firm's environmental practice is reflected in its clients. Clients range from individuals, partnerships, and closely held corporations to Fortune 500 companies. The Philadelphia office of Lewis Brisbois, a full-service AmLaw 100 firm, is actively seeking an attorney to join its Labor & Employment Practice.   The ideal candidate will be admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and have at least two (2) to four (4) years of experience in employment law matters. Prior employment litigation experience is required (preferably on the management side), and employment counseling or in-house employment law experience is preferred. This is an excellent opportunity for attorneys who are proactive and passionate about assuming a high-level role providing legal service within a sophisticated practice and who are seeking to assume a significant role in all aspects of labor and employment law. This role requires extensive contact with clients, governmental agencies and opposing counsel.   Lewis Brisbois' Labor & Employment Practice represents clients from coast to coast in all phases and types of employment litigation, counseling, and training. Our team of employment professionals is spread throughout our locations across the United States and provides clients with sound counsel in dozens of jurisdictions. Our size and geographic coverage allow us to provide our clients with consistent representation throughout the nation.   Qualified candidates will be comfortable drafting and responding to discovery and initial pleadings, drafting, and arguing motions, as well as taking and defending depositions. Candidates must have strong writing and analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.   Although we would prefer that you have some experience in employment law, we are also interested in working with developing talented attorneys who come to us with excellent skills in any litigation arena.
